The Alternative Music Show #010
The Alternative Music Show #010 (MP3 - 31MB - 33min)
It’s a 3 podcast mashup! The Alternative Music Show, Fat Guy Gets Fit, and The Financial Aid Podcast combine to form Voltron!… Er, we’ll, okay, not quite Voltron, but it’s a great show from BarcampBoston anyway!

- iScintilla - Scin
- Candid - Dear Dagny
- Jay McCarrol - Idiot Savant
- Matthew Ebel’s Drive Away makes a suprise appearance as a ringtone on Chris Penn’s phone!
P.S. I reference Pinko Marketing quite a bit in this podcast as Chris, Chris, and I talk about guerilla marketing methods, and I completely mispronounce Tara Hunt’s name (it’s pronounced like “Tera”, not “Tahrah”). What’s funny is that I only screw it up 2 of the 3 times I say it! Sorry Tara!
UPDATE: 2006-06-08 - Tara wrote in below to let me know that my first instinct was right, that her name is pronounced “tah-rah”. That’s what I get for second guessing myself!

Eric- This was tons of fun! I really enjoyed getting on and listening to the songs (Chris Penn was right: iScintilla made me want to get into a fight, only not with ninjas!)
The band I mentioned was SUMO. My confusion was that their website is AngrySumo.com, and they’ve got a MySpace page, too.
I think I’m ruined. I might have to move in with you and Sara to record more shows in the format we did at BarCamp. Either that, or I’ll convince my wife that we can do this without laughing our heads off.
Anyhow, you rock!

[…] I was a busy boy at BarCamp Boston. I gave a presentation about content networks, which was recorded by the Financial Aid Podcast. I also recorded a 3-podcast mashup with The Alternative Music Show gang *and* with Chris Penn from Financial Aid Podcast. So, if you want to hear either, click those links. […]

Thanks for hosting the chat, Eric - it was a terrific experience. Oh, and rumor has it that if you bought the full album from Matthew Ebel, you can ask for the ringtone, which is not the full song, but a thirty second edit I did for it.

[…] Monster Labs was recently the host of the Boston Barcamp. A Barcamp is an unconferencethat gets a group of geeks and related people together and organize talks, hack-a-thons and seminars on the spot. Barcamp was a raging success; you can checkout the Flickr pool here and podcasts here, here and here. […]
